Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services-Archdiocese of Toronto (CCFS) and all of its associated Cemeteries and Funeral Homes are committed to providing a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive environment for all of our bereaved families, visitors, and employees. We strive to ensure that the standards of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) 2005 are conscientiously observed and that all of our related policies and procedures are based on the core principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity. When communicating with people with disabilities we always strive to ensure it takes place in a way that takes into account their own unique disability.
To ensure compliance all persons responsible for providing goods, services and/or access to facilities are trained on: the purpose of the AODA Act, the requirements of the Customer Service Standards within the Act, and instructions on how to communicate with persons with various types of disabilities, how to interact with persons with disabilities who use assistive devices or require assistance of a service animal or support person, how to use equipment or devices made available to customers with disabilities and, how to assist customers with disabilities who are having difficulty accessing CCFS goods, services or facilities.
CCFS is a full supporter of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service Regulation 429/07.
CCFS welcomes your feedback on its Accessibility policies and services. To provide your feedback go to the “Contact Us” tab on this web site and send your comments by mail or, e-mail to accessibility@cc-fs.ca. Other options for feedback would be to directly contact one of our Cemetery / Funeral Home locations or our Central Business Office.
In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to access to goods, services or facilities for customers with disabilities CCFS will notify customers promptly. A clearly posted notice will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time, and a description of alternative facilities or services, if available. Notices will be made public via a posting on this website and a posting on location as soon as possible. Personnel may also be available on location to communicate updates to customers with disabilities, regarding any service disruptions.
Please note that although CCFS by-laws do not allow animals on our properties, we do recognize that some individuals deal with a variety of different disabilities that may require “service animals” that provide certain services or assistance on a daily basis. Thus, CCFS allows for an exception to be made for any and all certified “service animals” for which proper documentation may be requested if not readily apparent.
