An integral aspect of the ministry of Catholic Cemeteries is to provide for the spiritual needs of our families. As part of the fulfillment of this commitment an Annual Mass for the Faithful Departed is celebrated each August close to the Feast of the Assumption. This is our foremost celebration along with our All Souls’ Day Mass in November when we gather and pray for the souls buried in our cemeteries. In addition to these celebrations, many ethnic groups hold annual Remembrance Masses in our cemeteries to pray for their faithful departed.
A noon day Mass is also offered every Wednesday at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto to remember and pray for those buried in our Catholic Cemeteries.
The Rosary is prayed weekly in the main mausoleum chapels during the spring and summer months and monthly during the winter months.
Please join us for the celebration of Mass on the first Saturday of each month at 9:30 am. Mass will be held in St. Anthony’s Chapel, Queen of Heaven Cemetery on May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1 and October 6, 2012.
The Annual Mass for the Faithful Departed will be held on Wednesday August 15, 2012 at 7:00 pm.
