Full-Time Seasonal Labourers
Catholic Cemeteries – Archdiocese of Toronto is currently seeking motivated and team oriented individuals located throughout the Vaughan and Mississauga area to join our team as Seasonal Labourers. These are full time seasonal positions for our 2012 season starting in April and ending in November, five days per week, Monday to Saturday, with opportunities for annual recall. The seasonal labourer is responsible for working as part of a team along side full time labourers to participate in the Catholic burial process and to ensure the maintenance of the cemetery property.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Assist in interment, entombment and disinterment processes.
- Perform various landscaping and janitorial duties.
- Assist in the installation and/or maintenance of memoralization items.
- Assist in preparing for religious celebrations.
GENERAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 to 2 years of previous experience and/or knowledge in one or more of the following areas: general labourer, landscaping and/or general construction.
- Physically able to do heavy lifting (up to 50lbs), bend, stoop, climb, reach and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- High school education or equivalent preferred, an Ontario Class G Drivers License in good standing and a Police Clearance Letter are required.
- Fluent in English (oral and written), punctual and reliable.

Service Representative (Part-Time)
Catholic Cemeteries – Archdiocese of Toronto is currently looking for a Part-Time Service Representative to join our staff at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Woodbridge. This position is perfect for the mature student look for a part-time position. This position is scheduled for some Saturdays, and every Sunday and Statutory Holidays throughout the year, ranging from a weekly total of 6 hours to 14 hours. This position reports to the Cemetery Manager and is responsible for answering inquires from visiting families, general reception & clerical duties and conduct regular property inspections. Periodically, the position provides back up for full time receptionist while on vacation.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Greeting and directing families and visitors, and provide information on services, accounts and cemetery by-laws to funeral homes and families as required.
- Receptionist duties
- Conduct regularly scheduled property inspections
- Typing, data entry and filing of reports
GENERAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication skills, time management skills, computer efficiency, organizational skills and the ability to work alone.
- Previous reception experience preferred and a High School diploma or greater is required.
- Italian speaking an asset
