About Resurrection Catholic Cemetery
Resurrection Cemetery is located on Taunton Road East between Brock Street and Thickson Road in Whitby.
Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Whitby was consecrated in 1964 to meet the growing needs of the Catholic Community in Durham Region.
Resurrection Cemetery also cares for a number of satellite cemeteries including St Francis De Sales and St. Wilfred’s in Ajax, St. Gregory’s Cemetery in Oshawa and St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Whitby.
The Garden of the Evangelists offers an oasis of peace and reflection to all who visit the Cemetery.
A selection of burial services is available including mausoleum and cremation entombment as well as ground burial in monument lots, flat marker and cremation graves.
Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum
The Our Lady of the Assumption mausoleum offers a variety of entombment choices. The granite – faced crypts and niches are available as single and double spaces. The building features beautiful stained glass windows and a mosaic of Our Blessed Mother.
Upright Monument Lots
Resurrection Cemetery offers a selection of ground interment options. There are single and double grave lots which can accommodate upright monuments.
Flat Bronze Marker Graves
Another ground interment choice is a grave with a bronze marker (memorial) set flush to the ground with a granite base. These flat bronze marker graves are located in Shrine Sections featuring beautiful religious statues amongst carefully maintained flower gardens.
Memorials and Vaults
Resurrection Cemetery offers an extensive selection of memorials and interment products. Memorials such as granite monuments can be purchased in various colours, styles and sizes. Bronze markers give you the choice of personalizing the marker with a wide range of designs. A selection of urns and vaults is also available for purchase.
Cemetery office hours are from Monday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. To serve you better a cemetery counsellor can be available weekday evenings by request and subject to availability.
Mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery
Join us for the celebration of Mass on the last Saturday of the month at 9:30 AM. Mass will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Whitby. Dates are May 27, June 24, July 29, August 26, September 30, and October 28, 2017.
